Holland America ms Nieuw Amsterdam
The Nieuw Amsterdam is an 86,000-ton ship from a shipyard in Venice and was built by the Italian, Fincantieri’s Marghera. Within the ship you’ll find an art collection installed by Holland America Line that’s valued at around $3 million inspired by the history of New York City. It sets the scene for a spectacular atmosphere on your voyage. In the winter, it sails to the Caribbean and during the summers, to Alaska – both equally adventurous.
As with most cruise ships there is no shortage of options regarding food. However, the Nieuw Amsterdam provides more Italian options than most. Around the clock exquisite meals are prepared, but if you’d like to dine in private then great meals are only a phone call away. There are other popular features onboard such as spa and salon, kitchen classes, gymnasium, and a youth facility.
